Warehouse Inventory Lead

Job Description:

Located in St. Charles, MO, We Ship Express is a growing warehousing and logistics company with operations located nationwide. We are seeking someone who is looking to get their foot in the door with a growing company.

About the Position:

The Warehouse Inventory Lead is responsible for coordinating and maintaining accurate inventory levels within the warehouse while also supporting daily warehouse operations. This position plays a key role in monitoring stock, overseeing inventory control processes, and ensuring compliance with safety standards.

Roughly 50% of this role involves inventory-related duties, and the remaining 50% consists of hands-on warehouse responsibilities such as shipping, receiving, and general housekeeping.

The Warehouse Inventory Lead must be trained, willing, and able to perform all Warehouse I and Warehouse II tasks, including picking, packing, box making, palletizing, material handling, cross-docking, and quality assurance.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Take daily inventory of customer critical product in the Warehouse
  • Problem solve inventory discrepancies
  • Communicate with customers regarding inventory discrepancies
  • Rotate stock and ensure that the storage areas are clean and maintained and up to date in accordance with regulatory and safety requirements
  • Monitor inventory and coordinate with facility supervision and management to recommend changes in inventory
  • Maintain accurate inventory against physical count of stock
  • Be the key person responsible for inventory counts
  • Pick, pack, and handle materials for orders
  • Process packages for shipments by packaging, labeling, stacking, and palletizing
  • Complete tasks such as receiving, loading, unloading, stacking, and staging of shipments
  • Load and unload product to and from designated storage area, such as racks, shelves, or vehicles using a forklift and/or pallet jack.
  • Pack product on pallets and secure with protective materials such as strapping and stretch wrap to prevent shifting or damage to items being transported
  • Ensure accuracy of paperwork and that all required information is stored according to company procedure
  • Ensure proper housekeeping (i.e. free of trash, product in correct location, etc.)
  • Participate in quality improvement processes
  • Performs other related duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with shipping practices and handling methods required
  • Experience using Microsoft Excel and Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) required
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and a willingness to learn
  • Commitment to excellence and high standards
  • Flexible, and able to move within entry level warehouse positions noted above
  • Acute attention to detail
  • Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions
  • Three or more years related experience or equivalent required
  • Forklift certification required
